Shots fired at BTW graduation, and I think that should be a wake up call that it is time to take back our city. This blog is a place created in hopes of getting together our hearts and minds and coming up with a solution for our violence problem, because it's not going to fix itself. As a recent graduate myself from Devry University I would hate to think someone with bad intentions would ruin my moment, so I feel we owe it to our kids to at least try to do something. They will live the rest of their lives remembering that we failed them by allowing nonsense on their special day, and from this day forward I think we should not stand for it any more. I would love to hear what you think in the comment section below, and for your entertainment I added a video to remind us how beautiful the city of Tuskegee truly is, enjoy.
Let's agree that parents these days need to really "step it up" and actually be parents, and then as a community, let's motivate ourselves to "step it up" starting now, and realize we MUST create as many youth programs as possible, coming from every fraternity, every sorority, every social organization, club, every church, even neighborhoods if possible, and as for us at the new City of Tuskegee Recreation Department, we are planning and seeking to create as much as we humanly can. Yes it is a sad day in Tuskegee, but it's also days like this when we realize that we must do more as a community. In addition to the programs that already exist, if every other organization and group in Tuskegee also facilitates some form of youth leadership or extra curricular program as well, and then hundreds of kids pass through those programs each year cumulatively, I guarantee things will be different 3, 2, and maybe even 1 year from today. Let's take our city back Tuskegee. We can do it... - David Henderson
